Elipson P1 and A2700 - Reference series preamplifier and driver

The P1 preamplifier and the A2700 power amplifier graced the front page of the "amplifiers" section on the website of the French company Elipson. Recently, both novelties of the Reference series could be seen at High End Munich 2022. The name of the series is quite ambitious, and the manufacturer claims that the P1 and A2700 are the result of “the pursuit of the highest level of music reproduction”.
This statement is quite reasonable: P1 is an example of a fully balanced circuit design, with separate power supply for the analog part and additional systems such as an OLED display, a control controller and switching relays. At the same time, a self-oscillating DC converter is responsible for powering the analog part, the “pure sine” of which is separated from insidious mains interference.

The P1 preamplifier is available both in a completely analog version, without additional modules, and in the P1F "full stuffing" version. It adds two modules - EES Saber DAC with USB and MM/MC phono stage. Both can be purchased separately - the DAC is available right now, the phono stage is promised a little later. As a result, Elipson promises better than 0.001% harmonic distortion and a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 120 dB for the P1.
As for the power, it's a two-channel class D amplifier ready to deliver 400 watts to 8 ohm speakers in stereo mode. If you switch the bridge connection, then the peak power for the same 8 ohms can reach up to 2.5 kW. Class D, as a rule, is not prone to overheating, but Elipson engineers have implemented a patented cooling concept in the A2700 and guarantee the nominal temperature regime under any load.
Naturally, both new Elipson products in anthracite gray color match perfectly on the outside, and for complete mutual integration, you can buy branded 2U mounting brackets.
