Home cinema acoustics Focal Vestia presented at CES 2023

2023 were able to see the Focal Vestia range of speakers for recreation centers. It consists of five models that combine common design, technology, development principles and a set of speakers. In particular, this is a 25 mm TAM dome tweeter, whose aluminum-magnesium membrane profile has the shape of the letter "M". The tweeter operates up to 30 Hz, defining the upper frequency limit for all Vestia models. The rest of the Vestia speakers received Focal Slatefiber cones made from recycled carbon fiber.
If you read from the younger ones, then the first Vestia model will be the Vestia N°1 bookshelf speaker. In addition to TAM, it is equipped with a 16.5 cm mid-bass driver working for a front-facing bass reflex and has a sensitivity of 89.5 dB.
The N°2 3-way 101.2 cm floorstanding speaker already features a pair of these Slatefibre woofers and a mid-bass driver of the same size. N°2 operates from 47 Hz to 30 kHz with a sensitivity of 91.5 dB (2.83 V/1 m). The Focal Vestia N°3 is 10cm taller and has one more woofer, lowering the low end to 42Hz and boosting the sensitivity to 92dB.

N°4 is the largest of Vestia's floorstanders: a pair of 21 cm woofers was added to the 16.5 cm midbass, which, with the same sensitivity, made it possible to lower the lower frequency response limit to 40 Hz. In addition, the Focal Vestia has a CC center channel speaker - a two-way speaker with two rear-facing bass reflex ports, with two 16.5 cm Slatefiber speakers and a TAM tweeter between them. This speaker plays from 58 Hz.
The manufacturer recommends combining Vestia kits with the SUB 600P subwoofer. The front panels of the Focal Vestia speakers are decorated with artificial leather. The remaining surfaces are available in three finishes: Black High Gloss, Dark Wood and Light Wood.

McLaren is firmly committed to the audio industry with its latest collaboration with Bowers & Wilkins. The Px8 McLaren Edition headphones are created by Bowers & Wilkins in honor of the McLaren supercar. For seven years now, the two companies, located half an hour away from each other, have been fruitfully cooperating: B&W audio systems often appear in McLaren cars, including the latest Artura hybrid supercar, but the headphones were released as part of the collaboration for the first time.
The novelty is made on the basis of the newly created flagship B&W Px8 wireless headphones with custom 40 mm drivers and a carbon cone located in the cup at an angle - in accordance with the inclination of the listener's auricle. Featuring B&W's patented noise reduction technology, it supports Qualcomm's aptX Adaptive codec, handles 24-bit high-resolution audio when connected via USB-C, and alternatively supports 3.5mm analog connections.
The exclusive McLaren Edition of Bowers & Wilkins Px8 headphones received a Galvanic gray finish with papaya orange accents, the signature color of the early McLarens, created by company founder Bruce McLaren. The novelty was complemented by a corresponding exclusive carrying case. The model is already available on the Bowers & Wilkins and McLaren websites, as well as at select retailers.
