Wharfedale Announces Aston And Dovedale Speakers In Retro Heritage Series

Two promising models of Wharfedale acoustics were spotted at the last High-End Munich 2022 exhibition. These are the two-way Aston racks and the three-way Dovedale.

By design, Aston can be compared with Wharfedale Denton, but the developers themselves call them a smaller version of Linton. The novelty has mid-bass speakers with diffusers made of Kevlar composite. In accordance with the classic concept, Aston will receive two bass-reflex ports. The soft dome tweeter can be considered no less classic. In addition, the speakers will receive custom racks - however, it is not known whether it is included or optional.

Not many technical details are known about Dovedale: it is a classic three-way speaker in a wide body, with an asymmetric arrangement of speakers on the front panel. Bass is handled by a 10-inch speaker, and the mid- and low-frequency drivers seem to have migrated directly from Linton.

Wharfedale turns 90 in 2022, and they're about to celebrate with speakers resurrecting models from past eras. And brand representatives proudly declare that new items will be produced exclusively in the company's homeland - in Huntington.
